Job Description

About the Role

As a Payments Sales Specialist at Jonas Software, you'll be working closely with channel partners and their merchant portfolios to identify opportunities for growth and optimization. Your expertise in payment processing and analysis will be crucial in helping partners uncover savings opportunities, optimize pricing structures, and increase their payment revenue. You'll be serving as a trusted advisor and payments expert, working closely with partner account managers and the channel sales team to align on strategy and execution.

The role involves a deep understanding of the payment processing industry, the ability to analyze complex merchant statements, and the skills to craft compelling narratives that drive sales and growth. Your day-to-day activities will include conducting thorough merchant statement analysis, translating findings into actionable insights for partners, and joining partner calls to provide payment expertise and support negotiations.

As a key member of the team, you'll be responsible for managing pipeline activity related to partner-sourced leads, identifying follow-up opportunities, and proactively seeking areas for added value. You'll maintain up-to-date records of your activity in Salesforce and produce regular reports on opportunity status and impact.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct thorough merchant statement analysis to identify opportunities for savings and growth
  • Translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for partners
  • Craft compelling narratives for partner teams to help close deals or win back lost opportunities
  • Join partner calls as needed to provide payment expertise and support negotiations
  • Proactively manage pipeline activity related to partner-sourced leads
  • Identify follow-up opportunities and re-engagement tactics
  • Collaborate closely with partner account managers and the channel sales team
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce
  • Produce regular reports on opportunity status and impact
  • Stay updated on industry trends and developments in payment processing
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners and merchants
  • Work closely with the sales team to align on strategy and execution

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in merchant services, payment processing, or a similar financial services role
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze merchant statements and present customized solutions
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience using Salesforce (or similar CRM) for sales and customer management
  • Strong proficiency in Excel for financial analysis and reporting
  • Comfortable working with partners and merchants across varying business sizes and verticals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a similar role within the software or technology industry
  • Knowledge of payment processing regulations and compliance
  • Certification in payment processing or a related field
  • Experience with data analysis tools beyond Excel
