About the Role
The Payroll Specialist role at Maples Group is a critical position that ensures the accurate, timely, and compliant end-to-end processing of payroll across multiple entities. This involves managing complete monthly payroll cycles, including all employee lifecycle and pay adjustments, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely delivery. The role is part of a larger team that values tenacity, ethics, and excellence, offering a unique environment for professional growth and development.The Payroll Specialist will work closely with Finance, HR, and external vendors to support payroll operations, compensation budgeting, and continuous process improvement. This includes ensuring payroll compliance with labor laws, tax requirements, and statutory obligations, as well as reconciling benefits and insurance deductions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll principles, statutory deductions, and multijurisdictional requirements, with experience in a similar role and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

What You Will Do
- Manage complete monthly payroll cycles, including all employee lifecycle and pay adjustments
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and timely delivery of payroll processing
- Ensure payroll compliance with labor laws, tax requirements, and statutory obligations
- Reconcile and submit pension contributions, manage cross-jurisdiction requirements, and escalate tax or regulatory risks
- Reconcile health, life, and other insurance deductions and employer contributions
- Investigate discrepancies and coordinate with HR and providers
- Support annual and interim bonus processes, assist with salary budgets, and prepare compensation cost analyses
- Maintain payroll and employee data integrity across payroll systems, HCM, and finance tools
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, journal entries, and audit documentation
- Liaise with payroll vendors on system upgrades and issue resolution
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 4+ years of payroll experience, ideally in a multi-entity environment
- Strong understanding of payroll principles, statutory deductions, and multijurisdictional requirements
- Experience with Workday, Blue Bison, and financial systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Cayman Islands and international payroll practices is an asset
- Ability to maintain high precision and confidentiality in payroll processing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
