About the Role
The Payroll Specialist role at 3P Learning is a part-time position with potential flexibility in working structure, depending on experience and preference. This role is ideal for a highly detailed individual who thrives in multi-country payroll environments and enjoys being a trusted subject matter expert. As a key member of the finance team, the Payroll Specialist will work closely with internal stakeholders, external providers, and auditors to ensure operational excellence and seamless employee experience.The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations across the US and Canada, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and provincial regulations. This includes processing biweekly payroll, maintaining accurate records, and providing support for benefits administration and audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of payroll regulations, benefits, reconciliations, and year-end processes, as well as excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

What You Will Do
- Process biweekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees using ADP Workforce Now with accuracy and compliance
- Audit pay records, reconcile totals by department, location, and country, and apply pay policies correctly
- Prepare payroll journal entries, complete month-end and year-end reconciliations, and coordinate third-party payroll system upgrades
- Serve as primary payroll contact for employees and vendors, resolving discrepancies and responding to audit requests
- Ensure compliance with US federal/state and Canadian federal/provincial regulations, administering 401(k) and RRSP contributions and benefits
- Document payroll processes, train staff, and back up specialized payroll functions as needed
- Coordinate payroll system upgrades and implement new processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Provide support for benefits administration, including open enrollment and benefits fairs
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure seamless payroll operations and resolve any issues that may arise
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of payroll experience with the US and Canada
- Expertise in ADP Workforce Now and strong knowledge of payroll regulations, benefits, reconciliations, and year-end processes
- Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to advise senior partners on complex matters
- Payroll certifications (PCP, CPM, FPC, CPP) or an accounting/finance background
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a global company with multiple countries and currencies
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and experience working with Canadian payroll software
- Experience with benefits administration and employee communications
- Certification in accounting or finance, such as CPA or CMA
- Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages
