About the Role

The Payroll Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll for Republic Services' employees. This involves overseeing the payroll staff, managing data integrity, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of complex payroll processes, including incentives, garnishments, and shift differentials.

As a Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and organizing process improvement projects to advance payroll functions. What You Will Do

  • Monitor and oversee all tasks and initiatives necessary to accomplish payroll processing objectives
  • Supervise the payroll staff and ensure data integrity to maintain timely and accurate payroll processing
  • Exhibit in-depth knowledge of complex payroll processes, including incentives, garnishments, and shift differentials
  • Hold knowledge of union collective bargaining agreements to ensure compliance
  • Assume responsibility for all employee and operational payroll escalations to ensure timely resolutions
  • Assist payroll processors and payroll analysts with complex incentive support issues
  • Ensure timely response to requests from unions, tax authorities, and other agencies
  • Track metrics and KPIs to evaluate payroll and data performance
  • Manage the processing of garnishment wage orders
  • Manage the payroll processing for disaster relief operations according to documented procedures
  • Provide technical expertise to payroll analysts and payroll processors related to payroll applications
  • Ensure the creation of complex ad-hoc reports to assist in managing and evaluating employee and payroll data
  • Provide recommendations to field team members based on the analysis of data extracted from the payroll system
  • Support the development of sustainable training programs for supervisors, managers, and employees
  • Lead and organize process improvement projects to advance payroll functions

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience
  • In-depth knowledge of complex payroll processes, including incentives, garnishments, and shift differentials
  • Knowledge of union collective bargaining agreements
