About the Role

The People Business Partner role at Supabase is a critical component of the company's People Team, responsible for supporting the remote GTM and Engineering organizations as they continue to scale. In this role, you will work closely with functional and executive leadership to navigate org design, performance, and day-to-day people decisions. Your expertise in building and maintaining a high-trust, high-accountability culture will be invaluable in driving the success of Supabase's distributed teams.

As a key partner to the GTM and Engineering leaders, you will help bring a thoughtful people lens to how teams scale, how leaders lead, and how the company maintains its culture in a fast-moving remote environment. Your ability to communicate effectively across both technical and non-technical audiences will be essential in driving alignment and collaboration across the organization.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with functional and executive leadership to navigate org design, performance, and day-to-day people decisions
  • Coach managers and leaders to improve support, consistency, and judgment across their teams
  • Maintain and champion a high-trust, high-accountability culture within a globally distributed environment
  • Scale people practices and programs thoughtfully without overbuilding unnecessary or heavy-handed processes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Recruiting, People Ops, Legal, and Finance to ensure alignment on GTM and Engineering organization initiatives
  • Manage employee relations and team health proactively to ensure the GTM and Engineering organizations remain healthy, effective, and world-class
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive employee engagement, retention, and growth
  • Analyze and report on key people metrics to inform business decisions
  • Provide guidance and support on performance management, career development, and succession planning

What We Are Looking For

  • 5-10+ years of experience as a People Business Partner in high-growth tech environments, specifically supporting distributed GTM or Engineering teams
  • Experience working in remote-first or globally distributed environments and operating asynchronously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in org design, performance management, and coaching senior leaders without being heavy-handed
  • Ability to solve real-world problems and make sound decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Experience navigating and operating in remote-first, open-source operating cultures, and experience in self-serve, commercial, and enterprise motions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and inform business decisions
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with HR systems and tools, such as Workday or BambooHR
  • Knowledge of employment law and regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting, particularly in relation to people metrics
  • Certification in HR or a related field, such as SHRM or HRCI
