Job Description

About the Role

The Pharmacy Technician will play a vital role in supporting the Clinical Pharmacy Team at Altais Health Solutions. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for assisting with tasks related to pharmacy utilization and implementation of medication management programs. Your primary focus will be on improving patient outcomes and promoting the safe and effective use of medications to enhance the quality of care.

The role is a 6-month contract position with possible extension, offering a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic and purpose-driven team. As a remote worker, you will be expected to work independently and collaboratively with the team, adhering to the standard working hours of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM PST.

What You Will Do

  • Support the Pharmacy Team on CMS/HEDIS Quality STAR measures by targeting patient populations with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and coronary artery disease.
  • Assist in the delivery of evidence-based pharmaceutical care under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Conduct outbound and receive inbound member and provider calls to address gaps in care, adherence, and therapeutic interchange.
  • Serve as a contact for clinical pharmacy programs and subject matter expert to medical services, physicians, and project teams regarding clinical intervention programs and pharmacy benefit management issues.
  • Document clinical activities and outcomes, including instructions and goals for patients, into the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Communicate with internal and external clinical staff, provider offices, health plan partners, and in-network pharmacies to provide information and support various clinical programs.
  • Assist with data reviews, reports, and presentations for pharmacy-related items.
  • Support the Pharmacy Team and Clinical department with ad-hoc projects and perform other assigned duties.
  • Research, process, and resolve drug authorization requests and respond to related physician inquiries.

What We Are Looking For

  • California State Board licensure as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
  • High school diploma and at least 1 year of pharmacy-related experience (retail or managed care) are preferred.
  • Experience with CMS/HEDIS Quality STAR measures is desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills are necessary for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a remote team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
