About the Role
The Philanthropy Gift Officer plays a pivotal role in MAP International's development team, focusing on cultivating, retaining, and growing a portfolio of significant donors. This role requires a deep understanding of donor passions and philanthropic goals, aligning them with MAP's mission to deliver meaningful engagement opportunities. As a key member of the philanthropy team, the successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to coordinate messaging, donor materials, and stewardship efforts.Day-to-day responsibilities will include managing a portfolio of assigned donors, ensuring high retention, increased giving, and deeper engagement. The Philanthropy Gift Officer will also be responsible for developing and implementing personalized engagement strategies, gathering and sharing compelling proposals, and representing MAP at select high-level donor engagements.
What You Will Do
- Manage a portfolio of rising, major, and signature donors, ensuring high retention and increased giving
- Develop and implement personalized engagement strategies to align donor passions with MAP International's mission
- Cultivate, steward, and grow relationships with approximately 90-150 donors, including individuals, family foundations, and organizations
- Gather and share accurate, compelling proposals followed by impact stories and data to demonstrate the difference contributions make
- Represent MAP at select high-level donor engagements, events, and gatherings
- Advance prospecting efforts to identify and research new high-capacity individuals, family foundations, and organizations
- Maintain daily communication with portfolio donors via phone, email, and mail
- Conduct regular in-person visits and virtual meetings with donors and partners
- Partner with internal teams to coordinate messaging, donor materials, and stewardship efforts
- Maintain MAP's CRM system, capturing donor interactions and communications
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in donor relationship management and fundraising
- Strong understanding of donor passions and philanthropic goals
- Ability to create reasonable financial goals based on donor capacity and giving history
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop individualized contact and solicitation plans based on donor interests, motivations, and preferences
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM systems
- Experience with Adjust and Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage time effectively
Nice to Have
- Experience in global health initiatives or a related field
- Knowledge of major gift fundraising principles and practices
- Certification in fundraising or a related field
- Experience with virtual event planning and execution
