Plumbing and Mechanical Estimator

About the Role

Reporting to Nash Plumbing and Mechanical, LLC, a subsidiary of HB Global, the estimator will be part of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality services. The role requires a deep understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, as well as the ability to navigate complex projects and build strong relationships with key individuals.

The estimator's work will have a direct impact on the company's bottom line, making it essential to be thorough, reliable, and organized. With the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, the ideal candidate will be a master of prioritization and time management.

What You Will Do

• Prepare detailed estimates for projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs
• Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project requirements
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to identify potential risks and opportunities
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable services
• Utilize Excel to create and manage estimates, track changes, and analyze data
• Collaborate with internal teams, including operations and sales, to ensure alignment and effective communication
• Identify areas for cost savings and process improvements, implementing changes as needed
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
• Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve estimating processes

What We Are Looking For

• Mechanical and/or plumbing experience, with a strong understanding of systems and operations
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam Revu
• Ability to quickly learn new software applications and technologies
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
• Thoroughness and reliability, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
• High school diploma or equivalent required, with a degree in a related field preferred

Nice to Have

• Experience with estimating software and systems
• Knowledge of construction management principles and practices
• Certification in a related field, such as plumbing or mechanical engineering
