About the Role
The Plumbing and Mechanical Estimator position at HB Global, LLC, is a critical role that involves preparing accurate estimates for projects. This entails gathering information, analyzing key metrics, and providing insightful knowledge on costs and benefits to support profitable business decisions. The estimator will work closely with various stakeholders, including vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams, to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects.Reporting to Nash Plumbing and Mechanical, LLC, a subsidiary of HB Global, the estimator will be part of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality services. The role requires a deep understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, as well as the ability to navigate complex projects and build strong relationships with key individuals.
The estimator's work will have a direct impact on the company's bottom line, making it essential to be thorough, reliable, and organized. With the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, the ideal candidate will be a master of prioritization and time management.
What You Will Do
- Prepare detailed estimates for projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs
- Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project requirements
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to identify potential risks and opportunities
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable services
- Utilize Excel to create and manage estimates, track changes, and analyze data
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations and sales, to ensure alignment and effective communication
- Identify areas for cost savings and process improvements, implementing changes as needed
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve estimating processes
What We Are Looking For
- Mechanical and/or plumbing experience, with a strong understanding of systems and operations
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam Revu
- Ability to quickly learn new software applications and technologies
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
- Thoroughness and reliability, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with a degree in a related field preferred
