About the Role
The Podcast Operations & Production Assistant role at Substance is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about podcasting and eager to support the day-to-day operations of a thriving podcast. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the podcast host and other stakeholders to plan, organize, and prepare episodes for recording. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth execution of podcast episodes, from researching topics and coordinating guests to preparing discussion notes and managing the recording schedule.The podcasting landscape is rapidly evolving, with new platforms and technologies emerging every day. What You Will Do
- Research and suggest conversation topics for upcoming podcast episodes
- Help refine episode ideas with the team and prepare simple discussion notes for recordings
- Identify and shortlist potential guests for upcoming episodes
- Prepare guest briefs, including basic background information and suggested discussion angles
- Support scheduling and communication with guests
- Ensure all materials are ready before recording, including sending instructions and reminders to guests
- Coordinate basic setup and technical requirements for recordings
- Maintain the episode tracker and content calendar to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Follow up on outstanding items and ensure that all deadlines are met
- Collaborate with the podcast host and other team members to ensure the successful execution of podcast episodes
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the podcasting industry
