Job Description

About the Role

The Associate Data Scientist role at PointClickCare is a unique opportunity to join a team of innovators who are passionate about providing data-driven insights to the healthcare industry. As a key member of the Data Science department, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on healthcare data to inform product development and improvement. The role is focused on working closely with the internal Product department, using real-time and historical data to identify new product opportunities and understand user behavior.

Day-to-day, you will be working with large datasets, extracting, cleaning, and preparing data for analysis. You will also be responsible for summarizing, visualizing, and interpreting data for various customer personas, including hospitals, health systems, and health plans. Your findings and recommendations will be presented to Product personnel, Data Science personnel, management, and external clients, so strong communication skills are essential.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns in healthcare data
  • Extract, clean, and prepare data for analysis
  • Summarize, visualize, and interpret data for various customer personas
  • Provide recommendations to Product personnel, Data Science personnel, management, and external clients
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development and improvement
  • Develop and maintain databases and data systems to support data analysis
  • Create reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data science
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of the Data Science team

What We Are Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis or a related field
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and statistical concepts
  • Experience working with large datasets and data visualization tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with healthcare data is an asset
  • Familiarity with data science tools such as Python, R, or SQL
