About the Role
The Policy Associate, Fusion Policy, will play a crucial role in supporting Clean Air Task Force's efforts to advance fusion energy policy across the United States and Europe. This role entails close collaboration with senior staff and cross-functional teams to develop and execute fusion policy advocacy strategies. As a key member of the team, the Associate will work to translate Clean Air Task Force's fusion policy thought leadership into actionable advocacy, engaging with policymakers and coordinating with advocacy teams.Day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting research on policy frameworks, commercialization pathways, and public funding mechanisms, as well as analyzing technical and programmatic insights to inform clear, policy-relevant analysis. The Associate will also support engagement with federal, state, and European policymakers, preparing materials for external meetings, briefings, and stakeholder engagement.

What You Will Do
- Support development of fusion policy positions, reports, and roadmaps across US federal, state, and European contexts
- Conduct research on policy frameworks, commercialization pathways, and public funding mechanisms
- Translate technical and programmatic insights into clear, policy-relevant analysis
- Support engagement with federal, state, and European policymakers, including relevant government agencies and stakeholders
- Contribute to advocacy efforts advancing key priorities such as appropriations, tax incentives, and regulatory frameworks for fusion energy
- Prepare materials for external meetings, briefings, and stakeholder engagement
- Represent Clean Air Task Force in external meetings or forums, as appropriate
- Support coordination across Clean Air Task Force's US Federal, US State, and European advocacy teams to align priorities and execution
- Collaborate with internal teams, including legal and program staff, to integrate policy and regulatory considerations
- Contribute to alignment across Fusion Program priorities and workstreams
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in energy, climate, technology, or public policy
- 3+ years of professional experience in energy, climate, technology, or public policy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work across regions and policy contexts (US and Europe)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with programmatic and Excel
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
