Job Description

About the Role

As a Postperson with driving skills at Royal Mail, you will play a vital role in delivering mail and packages to customers in the Peterborough area. This is a permanent contract position with a 37-hour workweek, requiring you to work five days across Monday to Sunday, between 7:15 AM and 8:45 PM. You will be expected to work around one in six Sundays and five in six Saturdays due to operational demands.

The role involves driving a company vehicle, navigating through various routes, and ensuring timely delivery of mail and packages to residential and commercial addresses. You will be the face of Royal Mail in the community, interacting with customers, and providing exceptional customer service.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver mail and packages to residential and commercial addresses in the Peterborough area

What We Are Looking For

  • A full UK manual driving license with no more than 6 penalty points
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Ability to work independently, managing your time and schedule to ensure timely deliveries
  • Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and carrying mail and packages
  • Ability to work in variable weather conditions, including rain, snow, and extreme temperatures
  • Strong sense of community, with a passion for delivering excellent service to customers
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to work flexibly, including Sundays and Saturdays
