About the Role

The Power Platform Intern position is a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience with the latest digital technologies, including MS Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate. As part of the Enterprise Applications team, interns will work closely with experienced professionals to support the development and implementation of IT solutions that drive business success. The role is designed to provide real-world experience and technical mentorship, helping interns develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the tech industry.

The Power Platform Intern will be an integral part of the team, working on a range of projects that support the Leidos Information Technology roadmap. This includes tasks such as understanding and documenting user requirements, implementing software solutions, and tailoring commercial solutions to meet business needs. The internship is a full-time summer position, providing interns with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of digital transformation and make a meaningful contribution to the company's mission.

What You Will Do

  • Support the development and implementation of IT solutions throughout the software lifecycle
  • Understand and document user requirements, identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation
  • Implement software solutions, including configuration and customization of commercial products
  • Tailor and configure commercial solutions to meet business needs, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
  • Document test results and respond to user questions, providing exceptional customer service and support
  • Integrate and present data, using tools like Power BI to create insightful and actionable reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development
  • Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning and retrospectives
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation, including user manuals and training guides

What We Are Looking For

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Intelligence, or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0, with a strong academic record and demonstrated commitment to learning
  • Quick learner, able to adapt to changing technologies and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated leadership ability through community or campus involvement, with a strong track record of achievement
  • Prior experience or classroom training related to software engineering, cybersecurity, technology, business management, or IT support
  • Basic familiarity with MS Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Dataverse, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Experience with web development, including HTML, Java, CSS, and json, with a strong understanding of front-end and back-end development principles

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with SQL language, MS SQL Server, and general SQL scripting, with a strong understanding of database design and development
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, with a willingness to adopt new approaches and tools
  • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, including Azure and AWS, with a strong understanding of cloud computing principles and best practices
