About the Role
The PR & Communications Manager role at Directive is a unique chance to lead day-to-day PR delivery for a portfolio of B2B client accounts, focusing on earned media, media relations, press releases, executive positioning, and thought leadership. As part of Directive's growing Communications division, you will play a pivotal role in elevating the quality of PR practices and supporting the agency's mission to deliver exceptional client work. This position requires a hands-on approach, combining strategic planning with the execution of integrated PR strategies across earned and owned channels. Your expertise in crafting compelling narratives and pitches will be essential in securing meaningful coverage in key publications that resonate with B2B buyers. Collaboration with the Head of PR & Communications and cross-functional teams will be crucial in ensuring communications programs align with broader client strategies.What You Will Do
- Develop strategic communications plans aligned with business objectives for B2B clients.
- Execute integrated PR strategies across earned and owned channels, including media outreach, press releases, bylines, analyst briefings, and award submissions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts across trade, business, and tech press relevant to client interests.
- Craft compelling pitches and narratives to secure coverage in publications that matter to B2B buyers.
- Support executive positioning programs through media training, thought leadership content, podcast placements, speaking opportunities, and bylined articles.
- Assist in influencer and practitioner briefing programs, including analyst relations and ICP-aligned creator partnerships.
- Contribute to organic social strategy and content as part of integrated communications programs.
- Utilize media and social monitoring tools to track trends, identify emerging issues, and uncover opportunities.
- Track, measure, and report on program performance against defined KPIs, tying PR activity to business outcomes like share of voice and pipeline influence.
- Collaborate with other Directive service lines to ensure communications programs connect to broader client strategy.
- Contribute to new business proposals and client presentations as a subject matter expert.
What We Are Looking For
- 4–7 years of experience in PR and communications, preferably in a B2B or B2B tech context.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for creativity and storytelling.
- Agency experience is required, with a demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- A track record of earning meaningful media coverage and building strong media relationships.
- Hands-on experience with executive thought leadership programs, including bylines, podcasts, and speaking engagements.
- Ability to translate complex B2B narratives into sharp, compelling pitches and stories.
- Proficiency in using AI tools to enhance research, targeting, and workflows.
- Willingness to travel for client visits on an as-needed basis.
- Continuous learning and professional development in PR expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in public relations or communications preferred.
