About the Role

The Pre-Sales Engineer role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise is a technical, customer-facing position that requires expertise in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and networking. As a key member of the HPE Networking Security Specialist Team, you will work closely with account managers, partners, and customers to design and implement secure networking architectures. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading technical discovery sessions, designing scalable security architectures, and delivering high-impact product demonstrations.

What You Will Do

  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer business drivers, networking environments, and security requirements
  • Design and articulate scalable Security architectures incorporating secure SD-WAN, SSE, identity-based access, and firewall technologies
  • Deliver high-impact product demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concepts showcasing HPE Networking offerings
  • Position and integrate solutions across the broader HPE Security and Networking portfolio
  • Support sales pursuits by responding to RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires with clear, technically accurate documentation and diagrams
  • Collaborate closely with account managers, specialist peers, partners, and services teams to drive successful deal outcomes
  • Present confidently to both technical audiences and executive stakeholders, including security leaders and architects
  • Provide field feedback to product management and engineering teams to influence roadmap and solution enhancements
  • Travel across the operation to support customer meetings, partner engagements, workshops, and industry events

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in technical presales, sales engineering, or solution architecture roles within security, networking, or cloud domains
  • Hands-on experience with SASE, Zero Trust, Hybrid-Mesh Firewalls, and cloud-delivered security architectures
  • Strong understanding of security technologies such as firewalls, IPsec, SSL-VPN, IDS/IPS, and traffic inspection
  • Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP/S, BGP, and OSPF
  • Familiarity with identity and access concepts including SSO, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and role-based access control
  • Working knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud)
  • Comfortable delivering live demos, whiteboarding architectures, and running custom proof-of-concepts

Nice to Have

  • Experience with HPE Security Platforms, including secure SD-WAN, Security Service Edge (SSE), and Zero Trust
  • Knowledge of HPE Networking products, including Aruba and Silver Peak
  • Certification in security, networking, or cloud computing (e.g., CISSP, CCNA, AWS Certified Security Specialty)
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes
