About the Role

The Presales Engineer role at Twilio is a unique blend of technical expertise and executive relationship-building, requiring individuals who can effortlessly switch between sketching out technical flows on a whiteboard and presenting engaging communications experiences to CEOs. As part of the Twilio Communications EMEA team, this role is pivotal in delivering the technical win and product fit to customers across the region. The successful candidate will be an experienced pre-sales engineer with a proven track record of building customer trust in complex communications solutions.

The role involves working closely with New Business Account Executives, other Solutions Engineers, Professional Services, and Twilio Partners to strategize and plan for deal success. A key part of this role is focusing on great business discovery within prospects and communicating the business value of Twilio solutions. This involves taking part in qualification, discovery, demonstrations, Proof-of-Concept, RFP responses, design documentation, technical presentations, and enablement sessions during the sales cycle.

What You Will Do

  • Work alongside Twilio New Business Account Executives and other stakeholders to strategize and plan for deal success
  • Build a successful business partnership with Twilio Account Executives, focusing on great business discovery within prospects
  • Communicate the business value of Twilio solutions to customers
  • Participate in qualification, discovery, demonstrations, Proof-of-Concept, RFP responses, and other sales cycle activities
  • Develop subject matter expertise on customer needs and requirements and Twilio's communications technology
  • Lead technical discovery sessions with customers to uncover their needs and challenges
  • Build and present powerful and complex presentations and product demos
  • Form an understanding of a customer's business and help solve problems they've identified
  • Build trusted advisor relationships at the highest levels of customers and present creative new solutions and architectures
  • Contribute to the wider Twilio Solutions Engineer community by sharing knowledge and building demo assets

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in a presales engineering or similar role, preferably in the communications or technology sector
  • Strong technical skills, including understanding of communications technology and software development principles
  • Excellent executive relationship-building skills, with the ability to present to and engage with C-level executives
  • Ability to develop subject matter expertise on customer needs and Twilio's communications technology
  • Strong understanding of the sales cycle and the ability to participate effectively in all stages
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to build and deliver complex presentations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Twilio's Customer Engagement Platform or similar communications solutions
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning principles and their application in communications technology
