About the Role

The Principal Application Developer position at Oracle Health is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between foundational cloud platforms and customer-facing healthcare applications. What You Will Do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions and cloud-native services that meet the needs of healthcare providers, patients, payers, and public health organizations.
  • Build and support healthcare applications, APIs, integrations, and platform capabilities, ensuring they are reliable, secure, and highly available.
  • Develop and support systems running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), leveraging cloud technologies, healthcare interoperability standards, and AI-driven capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, engineers, and operational teams, to deliver customer-focused solutions that improve healthcare outcomes.
  • Participate in system design, code reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and operational excellence initiatives to ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability.
  • Contribute to automation, observability, security, and continuous delivery practices, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of software development and deployment.
  • Support modernization efforts, leveraging cloud technologies, healthcare interoperability standards, and AI-driven capabilities to transform the future of healthcare.
  • Engage in roadmap planning and technology modernization efforts, driving innovation and technical leadership within the organization.
  • Partner with engineering, product, security, operations, and customer teams to drive engineering excellence and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Participate in innovation initiatives focused on AI, cloud, healthcare interoperability, and next-generation healthcare experiences, contributing to the development of cutting-edge healthcare solutions.

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering, application development, platform engineering, or related technical roles within a fast-paced technology environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with strong programming and software design skills.
  • Experience developing enterprise software applications or cloud platforms, with a focus on distributed systems, APIs, and cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and engineering best practices, with the ability to contribute to and lead technical discussions.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or similar cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology or regulated industries, and experience with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, SMART on FHIR).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience building large-scale SaaS platforms, and knowledge of AI, machine learning, or data engineering solutions.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and microservices, with proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, or related languages.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Kubernetes and container technologies, and familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tooling.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation, observability, and monitoring platforms, with experience in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of software development and deployment.
  • Experience with large-scale healthcare data management, and familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning platforms.
  • Certification in cloud computing, software engineering, or a related field, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
