Job Description

About the Role

As a Principal Data Analyst, Marketing Analytics at Airalo, you will be responsible for driving the company's marketing measurement strategy. This involves working closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and influence how millions of travelers stay connected. You will have the freedom to experiment with best-in-class tools and collaborate with a team ready to turn insights into action.

Airalo's fully remote Data team is growing, and this role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative company. As a Principal Data Analyst, you will own and execute the marketing measurement strategy, from Marketing Mix Modeling and incrementality testing to attribution, channel economics, and budget allocation.

The company's goal is to make travel easier for millions, and the Data team plays a critical role in achieving this objective. By working at the intersection of marketing science and business strategy, you will design experiments, build models, and deliver insights that shape how Airalo invests its marketing spend across 190+ countries.

What You Will Do

  • Manage and evolve Airalo's growth MMM portfolio, driving the existing market model from validation into a production-grade decision tool
  • Design and execute incrementality experiments to calibrate the MMM and establish true causal impact of marketing spend across channels
  • Evolve the attribution methodology, determining the right models and attribution windows for the purchase cycle
  • Calculate and continuously optimize CAC metrics and own LTV:CAC as a strategic KPI reported to leadership
  • Build measurement literacy within the Growth and Acquisition teams, training stakeholders to interpret LTV/CAC related metrics
  • Build and maintain the performance marketing reporting framework, working with Analytics Engineering to ensure the underlying models serve both reporting and measurement needs
  • Act as an analytics partner to the Growth and Acquisition teams, translating business questions into measurement plans and delivering analytics that inform spend decisions
  • Drive adoption of measurement outputs, ensuring MMM scenarios, incrementality results, and other insights are used to inform business decisions

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing analytics, with a focus on measurement strategy and data-driven decision making
  • Expertise in Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, Looker Studio, AppsFlyer, and Adjust
  • Strong technical skills, including data modeling, statistical analysis, and data visualization
  • Experience with Marketing Mix Modeling, incrementality testing, and attribution methodology
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, or economics

Nice to Have

  • Experience with machine learning and AI applications in marketing analytics
  • Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python or R
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud
  • Certification in data science or marketing analytics, such as Google Analytics or Facebook Blueprint

Benefits and Perks

  • Remote work opportunities, with a flexible and dynamic work environment
  • Generous PTO and wellness allowances, to support work-life balance
  • Annual Airalo Away retreat, to connect with colleagues and celebrate successes
  • Access to best-in-class tools and technologies, to drive innovation and growth
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth, with a focus on data-driven decision making
  • Competitive compensation package, with a focus on performance-based incentives
  • Equity options, to align with the company's long-term goals and vision

How to Stand Out

  • Tip: Highlight your experience with marketing analytics tools, such as Google Ads and Looker Studio, and be prepared to provide examples of how you've used data to drive business decisions.
  • When applying, make sure to tailor your resume and cover letter to the specific requirements of the role, and be prepared to discuss your technical skills and experience in detail.
  • To stand out, consider creating a portfolio of your work, showcasing your ability to analyze complex data sets and communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • In the interview process, be prepared to answer behavioral questions, such as how you've handled conflicting priorities or worked with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.
  • When negotiating salary, consider the company's flexible and remote work environment, and be prepared to discuss your expectations and requirements.
  • Red flag: Be cautious of companies that prioritize short-term gains over long-term growth and sustainability, and be sure to ask about the company's culture and values during the interview process.
