About the Role

The Principal, Experience Measurement & Validation role at Alteryx is a senior individual contributor position that plays a crucial part in ensuring Alteryx products are ready for customers and deliver value once they're released. This role is about building and maintaining the system that measures product experiences, including traditional and AI-assisted capabilities. The successful candidate will be part of the Customer Signals organization, reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Customer Signals, and will have a seat at the table with product and engineering leadership.

The day-to-day work involves designing and evolving a staged validation system, defining experience measurement standards, and establishing scalable approaches to customer exposure. This is a high-impact role that requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to challenge the status quo, and a passion for innovation and excellence. The ideal candidate will be an expert in their craft, with a strong background in measurement work that has informed product decision cycles.

What You Will Do

  • Design and evolve a staged validation system to reduce launch risk and guide capabilities from internal testing to general availability
  • Define experience measurement standards across the product lifecycle, including behavioral and experience health benchmarks
  • Establish scalable approaches to early customer exposure, such as preview programs and progressive rollouts
  • Define behavioral data and instrumentation requirements in partnership with Engineering and Telemetry
  • Ensure readiness conclusions are grounded in customer feedback and observed behavior
  • Build and own a multi-dimensional experience measurement framework that combines attitudinal and behavioral signals
  • Translate measurement into clear, evidence-based insights to inform release decisions and product improvements
  • Partner with Product to establish shared measurement baselines and layer in feature-specific learning goals
  • Contribute to the broader Customer Signals model, integrating telemetry, qualitative research, and experience health

  • Strong background in data analysis and interpretation, with proficiency in Excel
  • Experience in establishing scalable approaches to customer exposure and ensuring readiness conclusions are grounded in customer feedback and observed behavior
  • Ability to build and maintain a multi-dimensional experience measurement framework
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into clear recommendations
  • Experience in partnering with cross-functional teams, including Product and Engineering
