About the Role

As a Principal Practice Leader - Air Quality at Geosyntec, you will play a pivotal role in driving business development, project management, and technical leadership for air quality projects. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating the complexities of emissions quantification, carbon and climate change programs, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory compliance. What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to expand Geosyntec's air quality practice
  • Manage and oversee air quality projects, including emissions quantification, climate change programs, and environmental impact assessments
  • Provide technical leadership on air quality matters, including regulatory analyses and compliance solutions
  • Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through client contact, professional organizations, and industry events
  • Assist in the development and planning of new and modified facilities, including integrated consulting, environmental, design, and construction support
  • Manage projects and staff, including technical leadership, risk management, and mentoring
  • Work closely with staff across North America to deliver exceptional client service
  • Assist in recruiting and training additional staff to enhance the team's capabilities
  • Serve in a leadership role for company culture and values across the organization
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project sites as needed

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, or a related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in the energy infrastructure sector, with a focus on siting, permitting, and licensing
  • Experience in managing permitting, planning, compliance, and environmental oversight of linear energy infrastructure projects
  • Professional registration (e.g., P.E., P.G.) is required
  • Strong business development and technical skills, with an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Experience in managing projects, staff, and clientele, with excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Advanced degree in a related field is preferred
  • Experience with air quality regulations, including the Clean Air Act, and state and local regulations

Nice to Have

  • Experience with emission quantification and climate change programs
  • Knowledge of environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with air permitting, including NSR, PSD, Title V, GHG, EPCRA, and state-level pre-construction and operating permits
  • Experience with integrated consulting, environmental, design, and construction support for large-scale projects
