Job Description
About the Role
As a Principal Product Manager at Docker, you will be responsible for defining the product strategy and roadmap for the AI and Agent Platform. This is a high-impact role that requires a deep understanding of the agentic AI ecosystem and its evolving landscape. You will work closely with a small, high-velocity team spanning engineering, design, and go-to-market to drive the development of a new platform from scratch.The AI and Agent Platform is a groundbreaking initiative that aims to make AI agents an integral part of the software development process. As the platform's product leader, you will own the vision, roadmap, and success metrics, making hard tradeoff decisions about what to build, what to defer, and what to cut. Your expertise in product management, combined with your knowledge of AI and agent technology, will be essential in driving the platform's growth and adoption.
What You Will Do
- Own the product strategy and define the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for Docker's AI and Agent Platform
- Build from zero, defining the product from the ground up and writing the first specs, prototyping with engineering, validating with customers, and iterating rapidly based on what you learn
- Drive from conception through delivery, writing requirements, working with engineering to scope and prioritize, shipping iteratively, and measuring outcomes
- Define how pieces of the agentic ecosystem fit together, including secure execution, tool connectivity, model access, governance, and observability
- Think beyond developers, ensuring the platform serves the full range of people who need agents to succeed, from individual developers to platform teams to enterprise operators
- Define the developer experience, working with design and engineering to ensure that our AI products are intuitive, powerful, and meet people where they are
- Collaborate across Docker, working cross-functionally to ensure coherent product experiences and go-to-market alignment
- Influence technical direction, partnering with engineering leadership on architecture decisions
- Represent the customer, engaging directly with developers, enterprises, and partners, and bringing their voice into every product decision
- Overcome blockers, figuring out a path forward when something is in the way
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of product management experience, with a focus on developer tools or infrastructure products
- Experience with AI and agent technology, including a deep understanding of the agentic AI ecosystem
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel and the ability to understand technical tradeoffs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams
- A customer-centric approach, with a focus on understanding the needs of developers, enterprises, and partners
- Experience with product development, including writing requirements, working with engineering, and measuring outcomes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-driven decision-making
- A willingness to take calculated risks and experiment with new approaches
