Job Description

## About the Role The Principal RFIC Engineer position at SpaceX is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that supports national security efforts. As part of the Starshield team, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced RFICs for deployment in space and ground infrastructures worldwide. This role requires a high level of expertise in RF/analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit design, as well as excellent collaboration and communication skills.

The Starshield program leverages SpaceX's Starlink technology and launch capability to provide critical support for U.S. National Security initiatives. As a key member of the team, you will be working on next-generation RFICs that enable earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads. Your work will have a direct impact on the development of space-based technologies and the future of space exploration.

SpaceX is committed to fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment, where innovation and creativity thrive. As a Principal RFIC Engineer, you will be working closely with system architects, modem/DSP and ASIC engineers, and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration of RFIC subsystems and circuits.

## What You Will Do - Design, simulate, and model RF/analog/mixed-signal circuits and systems - Derive specifications for RFIC subsystems and circuits - Develop analog/mixed-signal/RF/microwave circuits in SiGe, GaAs, GaN, or CMOS processes - Collaborate with system architects, modem/DSP and ASIC engineers to partition functions between hardware and software domains - Perform IC floor planning and layout - Own packaging prototypes, product development, and release to production - Model package and external parasitic components - Evaluate and characterize prototypes of the design - Assist in the development of automated test lab equipment for lab measurements - Work with manufacturing engineers on production testing and qualification of RFIC components and systems

## What We Are Looking For - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science - 8+ years of professional RF integrated circuit experience - Experience with RFIC design, simulation, and modeling tools (e.g., Spectre, ADS, HFSS) - Strong understanding of digital communication systems, spread spectrum, and modulation techniques - Knowledge of RF transceiver architectures and MMIC design - Familiarity with radio-related test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers) - Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment - Willingness to travel for off-site testing and support critical milestones

## Nice to Have - Master's degree or Ph.D. in electrical engineering or computer engineering with a focus on RF/analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit design - Experience with RFIC design for space-based applications - Familiarity with Starlink technology and launch capability - Knowledge of U.S. National Security initiatives and protocols

## Benefits and Perks - Competitive salary (range: $200,000 - $285,000 per year) - Opportunity to work on sensitive SpaceX missions (with active clearance) - 10% differential for active clearance holders (up to

5,000 annually) - Comprehensive benefits package (health, vision, dental) - Flexible work arrangements (remote work options) - Opportunities for professional growth and development - Access to cutting-edge technology and tools - Collaborative and dynamic work environment
