What You Will Do

  • Tackle the most ambiguous and far-reaching technical challenges, providing hands-on software development where it provides the greatest leverage.
  • Lead the responsible introduction and adoption of AI across product capabilities and engineering workflows.
  • Bring clarity to the most complex decisions, institutionalizing engineering excellence and contributing directly through critical design, prototyping, and code reviews.
  • Act as a trusted technical partner to senior leadership, shaping systems and platforms including AI-powered foundations that define Dropbox’s future.
  • Align senior technical and product leaders across boundaries, setting foundational architecture and driving execution standards.
  • Contribute to the development of multi-area strategies and roadmaps that shape how Dropbox builds, scales, and innovates.
  • Identify areas where AI can meaningfully improve customer value and translate evolving business context and industry advances into durable strategies.
  • Operate as a company-level technical strategist, advancing Dropbox’s mission to create a more enlightened way of working.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of technical projects.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in software engineering and AI, applying this knowledge to continuously improve Dropbox’s products and services.

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of leading technical teams and driving complex projects.
  • Deep technical expertise in software development, with a strong understanding of system design, architecture, and scalability.
  • Experience with AI and machine learning technologies, and their application in real-world scenarios.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
