About the Role
The Principal Solutions Engineer, Product Partnerships, is a pivotal role at Engine, focusing on the technical aspects of partnerships and customer integrations. This senior position requires a deep understanding of travel technology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to design and implement scalable solutions. As the first-in-role senior hire, you will be instrumental in shaping the Solutions Engineering function from the ground up.Engine is transforming the business travel landscape by creating a personalized, rewarding, and simple experience. What You Will Do
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for partners and customers during integration, launch, and go-live phases.
- Lead technical discovery, solution design, and implementation support to ensure seamless integrations.
- Guide partners through API usage, authentication, data models, and integration patterns to facilitate effective onboarding.
- Own technical launch readiness and sign-off, ensuring performance, security, and scalability standards are met.
- Provide post-launch technical support for partner and customer accounts, troubleshooting and resolving integration issues in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.
- Serve as the technical translator between partners and internal teams, delivering structured, actionable feedback to inform API roadmap, platform strategy, and developer experience.
- Build and maintain technical launch playbooks, reference architectures, and integration patterns to enable scalability and efficiency.
- Create and iterate on partner-facing technical documentation and enablement materials to support self-service and independence.
- Design the Solutions Engineering function for Product Partnerships, defining role scope, engagement models, and operational processes.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in a solutions engineering or similar technical role, preferably in the travel tech or fintech industry.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel and experience with API integrations and software development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in leading technical discovery, solution design, and implementation support for partners and customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience in building and maintaining technical documentation and enablement materials.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
