Job Description

About the Role

The Principal Specialist, Program Control Analyst role at RTX is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of financial program controls, cost accounting, and schedule integration. As a key member of the Identification and Interrogator Products (I&IP) finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all aspects of program control, from cost and schedule analysis to financial forecasting and proposal support. This role involves working closely with program finance leadership, program management, and cross-functional business partners to drive program alignment on financial goals and business requirements.

The I&IP finance team is looking for a highly motivated individual who can work independently and find solutions to complex financial problems. The team's focus is on delivering high-quality financial support to the program area, and the Principal Specialist will play a key role in achieving this goal.

What You Will Do

  • Develop program financials, including time-phased integrated budgets and schedules
  • Oversee financials for multiple programs in a portfolio area and provide guidance and mentoring to junior analysts
  • Support growth in Earned Value training and implementation
  • Conduct budgeting, cost control, and variance analysis, as well as internal and external reporting
  • Develop quarterly EACs and assist in accurate projection of Estimate to Complete (ETC), Estimate at Complete (EAC), and Latest Revised Estimate (LRE) data
  • Assist with organization of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and job cost accumulation
  • Coordinate with functions to balance labor and non-labor inputs and manage the balance sheet
  • Work with the team to unbilled, AR/CFRs, and help coordinate action to close programs and clean up the balance sheet
  • Provide analysis and support for financial forecasting and planning
  • Assist with proposal support and financial aspects of program start-up

What We Are Looking For

  • University Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and systems/processes
  • Experience with EAC (Estimate at Complete) Development
  • Proficiency in Excel and Adjust
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Nice to Have

  • Experience with program finance leadership and program management
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and schedule integration
  • Familiarity with financial forecasting and planning
  • Certification in Earned Value Management
