About the Role

The Principal, Technical Innovation at Bullhorn is a key leadership position within Bullhorn Labs, the company's innovation hub. This role is responsible for driving the development of AI-powered products and capabilities for the staffing industry. By working closely with customers, executives, product leaders, architects, AI teams, and engineering teams, the Principal, Technical Innovation will help shape the next generation of AI-powered products. Bullhorn Labs operates with the speed and agility of a startup, backed by the scale and support of an established platform. The team partners closely across various departments to identify high-impact opportunities and turn them into real customer value quickly. The model is built around rapid iteration and real-world validation, launching products early, learning from customer usage and feedback, and iterating aggressively. As part of this team, the Principal, Technical Innovation will be part of a small, focused group responsible for quickly turning ideas into working products, learning from customer feedback, and evolving successful products into scalable platform investments.

What You Will Do

  • Lead development efforts by actively writing code, prototyping quickly, and building products from the ground up
  • Partner closely with Product, AI, Architecture, and Engineering leadership to align technical execution with business goals and customer needs
  • Work directly with customers to understand operational challenges and translate them into impactful product capabilities
  • Quickly prototype, launch, test, and refine products based on customer feedback, usage patterns, and evolving market needs
  • Build products designed for fast validation and early adoption
  • Create reusable frameworks, tooling, and shared patterns that improve development speed and accelerate future innovation across Labs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of products and services
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in AI and software development
  • Mentor and guide team members to enhance their skills and knowledge

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in technical leadership roles, preferably in the development of AI-powered products
  • Strong background in software development, with expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
  • Experience with AI and machine learning technologies, including deep learning frameworks
  • Proven track record of driving innovation and delivering high-impact products
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of the staffing industry and its challenges
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes
