What You Will Do

  • Conduct comprehensive triage assessments over the phone to determine patients' medical needs
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Provide clear guidance and education to patients and colleagues on medical conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies
  • Use established triage protocols to assess patients' medical needs and make informed decisions
  • Document patient interactions and care plans accurately and efficiently
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical knowledge and best practices in remote triage care
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve skills and knowledge
  • Work independently to assess patients' medical needs and make informed decisions

What We Are Looking For

  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Alaska
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a triage or remote care setting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong cognitive and technical knowledge, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a remote triage setting
  • Proficiency in mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Theoretical knowledge of the nursing process, care management, and continuity of care

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a remote or rural healthcare setting
  • Certification in triage or a related specialty
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients who speak languages other than English
  • Experience with electronic health records and other healthcare technology systems
