Job Description

About the Role

The Procurement Architect position at Ramp is a highly technical and customer-facing role that requires a deep understanding of procurement workflows, vendor management, and technical implementation. As a key member of the Solutions organization, you will serve as the primary procurement SME in the sales cycle, partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Post-Sales Solutions to influence roadmap and shape how Ramp's procurement offering evolves. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting deep-dive discovery sessions, mapping customer procurement requirements to Ramp's capabilities, and designing scalable workarounds to ensure seamless integration.

As a Procurement Architect, you will be working closely with enterprise Account Executives and Solutions Consultants to drive technical discovery and solution design for high-value enterprise deals. Your expertise in procurement domain and technical implementation knowledge will be essential in accelerating Ramp's most complex evaluations. You will also be responsible for building pre-sale implementation plans, conducting integration assessments, and creating workflow prototypes to accelerate technical validation.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct deep-dive discovery sessions on procurement workflows, vendor management, sourcing, approvals, catalog strategy, and 3-way match requirements
  • Map customer procurement requirements to Ramp's capabilities, identifying gaps and designing scalable workarounds
  • Analyze ERP configurations and data structures to ensure compatibility with Ramp's deployment patterns
  • Build pre-sale implementation plans to eliminate re-discovery during onboarding
  • Conduct integration assessments, including API workflow validation, SFTP/data exchange requirements, and security/permissions modeling
  • Create workflow prototypes, configurations, and proof-of-concepts to accelerate technical validation
  • Operate as the procurement technical lead in enterprise opportunities
  • Quantify customer pain, run gap analyses, and translate procurement challenges into measurable ROI and value propositions
  • Provide structured feedback to Product on gaps, customer needs, and market trends
  • Help shape Ramp's procurement roadmap and competitive positioning

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in a technical or consulting role
  • Deep understanding of procurement workflows, vendor management, and technical implementation
  • Experience with ERP configurations and data structures
  • Strong technical skills, including API workflow validation and security/permissions modeling
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make consequential decisions
  • Experience with GTM and procurement domain expertise
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design scalable workarounds

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud-based procurement software
  • Knowledge of data analytics and data visualization tools
  • Certification in procurement or a related field
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Post-Sales Solutions
