Job Description

About the Role

As a Product Analyst at Porch Group, you will be an integral part of the operations and product leadership teams, working daily to develop, execute, monitor, and refine initiatives that drive value and quantify that value as it pertains to improving the product for customers and evaluating financial performance. This role covers a broad spectrum of responsibilities, from reporting to strategic analysis, and requires a unique blend of technical, business, and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business problems using data from internal and external sources, identifying trends and patterns in datasets to attribute key business drivers. Your insights will inform strategic decisions, drive business growth, and help Porch Group maintain its position as a leader in the home services software-as-a-service (SaaS) space. With approximately 30,000 companies in its network, Porch Group has built deep relationships with key players in the home-buying transaction, including home inspectors, mortgage companies, and title companies. As a Product Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work with large data sets, develop functional expertise in data analysis, and provide actionable insights to decision-makers.

What You Will Do

  • Provide actionable insights to decision-makers to influence strategy and performance
  • Analyze business problems using data from internal and external sources
  • Directly produce datasets and reports for analysis using databases and reporting tools
  • Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to attribute key business drivers
  • Analyze and define metrics that tie back to business performance and initiatives
  • Be a proponent of test/learn culture by enabling and supporting experimentation
  • Use data to generate forecasts, recommendations, and strategic/tactical plans to drive actions
  • Collaborate with the operations and product leadership teams to develop and refine initiatives
  • Develop and maintain databases and reporting tools to support data analysis
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for growth

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, business administration, or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in an analytical, data, and/or business role
  • Experience querying databases, researching, analyzing, and summarizing data in a business environment
  • Strong SQL or scripting skills and ability to use Excel to do further analysis
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills, business insight, and customer focus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to translate technical data into actionable insight to general audiences
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Data visualization skills, with Tableau experience preferred
  • Competency in at least one scripting language (R, Python, etc.) is a plus

Nice to Have

  • Experience solving ambiguous problems using data and making it easy for the business to act based on practical business insight
  • Understanding of data modeling / schemas and ability to work with DW engineers to source and plan for data needs
  • Proven experience working with US-based business teams
  • Experience in the home services software-as-a-service (SaaS) space or related industry
