About the Role
The Product Engineer position at WorkOS is a pivotal role focused on designing and implementing the technical infrastructure that enables secure and scalable connections between applications and AI agents. This involves working on the Pipes and Vault team, which is responsible for building products that securely manage data, credentials, and integrations for WorkOS's customers.Day-to-day, this role entails collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize product requirements, designing and developing APIs and data connectors, and ensuring the security and reliability of the systems. The ability to work across a wide range of technologies and disciplines, from backend development to security and data management, is essential.
What You Will Do
- Design and build APIs, data connectors, and real-time pipelines for Pipes and Pipes MCP.
- Architect systems for encryption, secure storage, key rotation, and secret management in Vault.
- Contribute to the definition of how agents are granted scoped authority over integrations through the Pipes MCP specification.
- Develop a deep understanding of the integrations and data infrastructure landscape to shape product direction.
- Expand product scope through value-add features based on customer input and market trends.
- Collaborate closely with customers to understand integration, security, and compliance requirements.
- Work with other product teams, solutions engineering, and the go-to-market team to ensure seamless integration and alignment.
- Participate in recruiting and assessing future engineering team members to grow the team's capabilities.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of industry software development experience, with a focus on building secure and scalable systems.
- Experience working on small teams in fast-paced environments, preferably in B2B SaaS or related industries.
- Background in systems that solve for security, encryption, storage, multi-tenant data isolation, or large-scale data platforms.
- Strong understanding of APIs, data infrastructure, and software development principles.
- Intellectually curious, independently driven, and passionate about delivering high-quality products.
- A growth mindset, high emotional intelligence, and strong communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with WorkOS's tech stack, including TypeScript, React, and Postgres.
- Background in B2B SaaS, developer tools, or a related industry, with knowledge of enterprise software development.
