Job Description

About the Role

The Product Engineer role at Teneo Online School is a unique opportunity to build cutting-edge education products that integrate AI capabilities, transforming the way teachers, students, and education partners interact with learning platforms. As a key member of the Technology Team, you will work closely with educators, technical teams, and education partners to understand real workflows, challenge assumptions, and develop practical software solutions. Your primary focus will be on building products that genuinely support better learning outcomes at scale.

Day-to-day, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Backend and AI Engineers, to ensure seamless integration of technical and AI capabilities into real education workflows. You will take ownership of developing your own understanding of problems and improving products through direct learning from users. Your work will have a direct impact on the company's mission to build a suite of AI-enabled products that support education partners worldwide.

What You Will Do

  • Build education products and product features from early concept through to production, working closely with educators, technical teams, and education partners
  • Work directly with teachers, technical teams, and education partners to understand workflows, pain points, and priorities
  • Turn complex or incomplete requirements into clear, practical, and usable product solutions
  • Design and build product experiences that integrate naturally with learning platforms and education systems
  • Work across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations, and data models where needed
  • Build prototypes quickly, test them with users, and turn successful concepts into reliable, maintainable products
  • Collaborate with Backend and AI Engineers to make technical and AI capabilities genuinely useful in real education workflows
  • Improve usability, reliability, performance, and product quality through active iteration
  • Investigate issues independently, identify underlying problems, and drive practical improvements
  • Use AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to accelerate delivery while maintaining strong engineering judgment and product quality
  • Write clean, tested, and maintainable code

What We Are Looking For

  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience building production web products or applications
  • Experience building and shipping user-facing web products
  • Strong experience with modern frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, Vue, or similar
  • Ability to work across frontend and backend, with stronger depth in at least one area
  • Experience with TypeScript/Node.js, Python, APIs, databases, and modern web application architecture
  • Solid understanding of authentication, permissions, validation, workflows, and data-backed products
  • Experience taking incomplete requirements and turning them into practical software solutions
  • Strong product judgment and ability to simplify complex user needs
  • A self-driven working style, with the confidence to investigate, propose, and test solutions rather than waiting for detailed instructions
  • Comfortable speaking with non-technical users and education partners to build a better understanding of the product
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, modern cloud platforms, and application deployment
  • Strong ownership, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and spoken English

Nice to Have

  • Experience building workflow-heavy products, dashboards, internal tools, or role-based applications
  • Experience with platform integrations, APIs, or embedded product experiences
  • Experience with data-driven product features, analytics integrations, or reporting tools
  • Experience with accessibility, web performance, analytics, or user-centered product design
  • Experience with CI/CD, testing, monitoring, or error tracking

Benefits and Perks

  • Fully remote work arrangement, allowing you to work from anywhere in Europe
  • Opportunity to work with a global EdTech company, making a real impact on education worldwide
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment with a team of experienced professionals
  • Access to cutting-edge technologies and tools, including AI-assisted development tools
  • Professional development opportunities, including training and conference attendance
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Flexible working hours and generous PTO policy

How to Stand Out
