About the Role
The Product Lead - Account Verification at Plaid is a critical position that entails leading the evolution of the company's verification platform. This role is responsible for shaping how users connect their financial accounts with confidence, ensuring that Plaid remains the industry's most trusted and flexible provider. As the Product Lead, you will be working closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and go-to-market, to expand Plaid's verification methods and drive the growth of the company's payment-focused consumer experiences.The account verification team at Plaid is dedicated to building the foundation of trust for open finance, helping fintechs and financial institutions connect and verify bank accounts securely. As the Product Lead, you will be responsible for driving the strategy and roadmap for account verification, ensuring that it aligns with customer and business outcomes.
What You Will Do
- Own the Account Verification strategy and roadmap, from long-term vision to near-term priorities
- Reimagine the Auth experience to unlock new use cases, such as recurring payments, e-commerce, and account funding
- Expand verification capabilities across a growing set of methodologies, including open banking, database auth, and microdeposits
- Drive self-serve, experimentation, and orchestration tools that empower developers and operators to configure and optimize verification paths without code
- Partner across Plaid to create cohesive experiences across account setup, risk management, and money movement
- Represent Plaid internally and externally as a product thought leader, shaping how customers, partners, and the industry view account verification
- Operate like an owner, making bold decisions and bringing creative energy to the role
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement new verification features
- Work closely with the design team to create seamless verification journeys that balance speed, reliability, and security
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in product development, with a focus on GTM and account verification
- Strong understanding of the financial technology landscape and the challenges of account verification
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
- Experience driving product strategy and roadmap, with a focus on customer and business outcomes
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts
- Experience working with open banking, database auth, and microdeposits
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions
