About the Role
The Product Lead position at Stripe is a pivotal role that entails driving the strategy and development of Connect, the company's leading product for marketplaces and software platforms. As a Product Lead, you will be responsible for devising and executing product roadmaps, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-impact initiatives. Your day-to-day activities will involve a mix of external meetings with customers, internal discussions with engineering, design, and analytics teams, as well as coaching and mentoring your direct reports.The Connect team at Stripe is dedicated to powering fast, flexible, compliant, and cost-efficient routing of payments on the internet. By utilizing the power of Connect, users can link multiple parties for the exchange of goods or services, enabling organizations to channel previously offline payments to the internet. As a Product Lead on this team, you will play a critical role in shaping the product's direction and ensuring its continued success.
The role is based in San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, or US Remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States. As a remote worker, you will be expected to maintain a high level of productivity, collaboration, and communication with your team.
What You Will Do
- Define and drive the product roadmap for Connect, including accounts and transaction APIs
- Devise strategy, steer product requirements, and oversee execution for high-impact initiatives serving modern marketplaces and software platforms
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, design, analytics, and other global teams to define, build, and deploy products that delight users
- Build and coach your team on best practices in defining product requirements and delivering against the overall roadmap
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for growth and innovation
- Conduct market research and analysis to inform product decisions and drive business outcomes
- Work closely with the leadership team to align product strategy with company goals and objectives
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience managing product managers, with a minimum of 10 years of experience as a product manager
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving product development from ideation to execution
- Experience with payments, marketplaces, or related industries
- Strong understanding of product development principles, including agile methodologies and lean startup practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-driven decision-making
- Experience with product management tools, such as Jira, Asana, or similar platforms
Nice to Have
- Experience working with remote teams or in a distributed work environment
- Familiarity with Stripe's products and services, or experience working with similar payment platforms
- Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, Java, or C++
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Certification in product management, such as CSPO or AIPMM
