Job Description

About the Role

The Product Lead for Money Movement at Plaid is a critical role that entails defining the long-term vision and roadmap for Plaid's Transfer products. This includes overseeing the strategy for real-time money movement across the Plaid network and the broader financial ecosystem. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the payments industry and the ability to drive growth while managing risk.

As a key member of the Transfer team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, risk, and go-to-market. Your primary focus will be on scaling real-time payments, ensuring world-class reliability, compliance, and customer success. You will also be responsible for representing Plaid externally as a thought leader in the future of open, real-time payments and modern financial infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product leadership, with a proven track record of driving growth and innovation in the payments industry. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with various stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Own the money movement strategy, defining the long-term vision and roadmap for Plaid's Transfer products
  • Scale real-time payments, leading the evolution of Plaid's payments operations
  • Balance growth and risk, overseeing ACH operations and customer oversight
  • Build trusted infrastructure, partnering with Engineering and Operations to deliver resilient and transparent systems
  • Represent Plaid externally, acting as a thought leader in the future of open, real-time payments
  • Lead with ownership, operating with urgency, creativity, and accountability
  • Develop and execute the product roadmap, working closely with cross-functional teams
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive business outcomes, ensuring alignment with company objectives

What We Are Looking For

  • 12+ years of experience in product leadership, with a focus on payments and financial services
  • Strong understanding of the payments industry, including ACH, RTP, FedNow, and other payment systems
  • Proven track record of driving growth and innovation in the payments industry
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and drive business outcomes
  • Experience with product development, including roadmap creation and execution
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
