About the Role
The Product Manager, Integrity, will play a crucial role in OpenAI's mission to ensure the safe deployment of artificial general intelligence. This role involves scaling the product efforts and overall technical strategy for the Integrity team, focusing on building tooling and infrastructure to prevent violations of OpenAI's usage policies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of complex forms of scaled abuse and experience in building sophisticated protections across multiple parts of OpenAI's product suite.The Integrity team is part of OpenAI's broader effort to bring its most capable technology to the world through its products. This includes ChatGPT, o3, and Sora, empowering consumers and developers alike to use and access state-of-the-art AI models responsibly. Safety is a top priority, and this role will contribute significantly to ensuring that these powerful tools are used for the benefit of humanity.
In this position, the Product Manager will collaborate closely with various teams, including product, safety, policy, user operations, and engineering. The ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, with 3 days in the office per week, is essential. What You Will Do
- Build tooling for AI-forward investigation of malicious users
- Develop infrastructure for the incubation of detection of novel misuse of OpenAI's services
- Lead full stack systems to prevent violations of OpenAI's usage policies
- Use data to better understand user needs and guide future product development
- Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including teams in product, finance, operations, and engineering
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive product vision, define requirements, and guide the team through key milestones
- Develop and maintain technical roadmaps and product strategies
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and their potential applications
- Contribute to the development of OpenAI's overall technical strategy
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of product management or related industry experience
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field
- Proven experience working in a technical environment with cross-functional teams to drive product vision, define requirements, and guide the team through key milestones
- Strong leadership, organizational, and execution skills, along with proven communication abilities
- Experience in building and managing high-performing teams
- Knowledge of AI technologies and their applications
- Understanding of safety and security principles in software development
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud-based technologies and infrastructure
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Certification in product management or a related field
