Job Description

About the Role

The Product Manager, Sensitive Deployments will play a critical role in shaping the future of AI safety at Openai. As part of the Integrity team, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing product strategies for high-stakes deployments, including government and regulated enterprise contexts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AI model capability, customer settings, and misuse prevention, as well as the ability to turn policy and threat models into product requirements.

The role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Policy, Legal, Privacy, Safety Systems, User Ops, and Government, to build shared capabilities and ensure the safe deployment of AI systems. The Product Manager will also be responsible for defining key performance indicators, such as residual risk, decision quality, and mitigation effectiveness, to measure the success of sensitive deployment controls.

What You Will Do

  • Own the roadmap for sensitive deployment Integrity controls and readiness criteria
  • Define how we measure residual risk, decision quality, review quality, and mitigation effectiveness
  • Build agentic investigation and context-assembly workflows for complex, multi-step misuse patterns
  • Partner with Policy, Legal, Privacy, Safety Systems, User Ops, Government, and product teams to build shared capabilities
  • Create launch and deployment playbooks for sensitive customer, capability, and product contexts
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of AI model capability, customer settings, and misuse prevention
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize high-consequence use cases
  • Develop and track key performance indicators to measure the success of sensitive deployment controls
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in AI safety and security

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in AI, integrity, trust and safety, security, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of AI model capability, customer settings, and misuse prevention
  • Experience in shipping complex product systems in AI, integrity, trust and safety, security, or a related field
  • Ability to turn ambiguous policy and threat-model questions into product requirements, metrics, operational workflows, and tradeoff frameworks
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with agentic AI products and a desire to build the platform layer that makes them safer to deploy
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions
  • Experience with security, privacy, and responsible deployment, with a strong understanding of the importance of these factors in AI system development

  • Experience working in a regulated industry, such as healthcare or finance
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their applications
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and deployment
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems
