About the Role

The Product Marketing Manager for Checkout at Stripe is a pivotal role that combines strategic thinking, creativity, and technical expertise to drive the adoption of Stripe's customizable and conversion-optimized checkout experience. This position is part of a highly cross-functional team that works closely with product, engineering, sales, and demand generation teams to inform product strategy and lead go-to-market efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting the narrative for priority segments, shaping the product roadmap, and developing go-to-market programs to increase awareness and adoption of Stripe Checkout.

As part of the Product Marketing team, you will be at the forefront of understanding customer needs and translating those insights into actionable strategies that propel the growth of Stripe's products. This role requires a unique blend of analytical skills, creativity, and the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders. The team's mission is to generate customer insights that inform Stripe's product strategy and lead the go-to-market for the company's suite of products, making this a critical role in driving business outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Develop segment-specific positioning and messaging for Stripe Checkout across priority segments and customer types.
  • Drive go-to-market across sold and self-serve motions, translating segment strategy into campaigns, content, and programs that drive adoption.
  • Build sales enablement tools such as decks, one-pagers, competitive battlecards, and objection-handling guides.
  • Execute self-serve go-to-market strategies by partnering with Growth, Web, and Developer Experience teams.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence and translate it into differentiated positioning and sales tools.
  • Support product launches by planning and marketing Checkout launches.
  • Partner with the demand generation and campaigns team to translate Checkout positioning into segment-targeted campaigns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of go-to-market efforts.
  • Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and sales data to continually refine and improve go-to-market strategies.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of product marketing or growth marketing experience at a technology company.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience translating technical features into benefits for a technical audience.
  • A track record of working cross-functionally across product, sales, and growth teams to drive business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to understand and interpret data to inform marketing strategies.
  • Experience with go-to-market planning and execution, including campaign development and sales enablement.
  • Knowledge of the fintech or payments industry, with an understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with tools such as Excel, Google Analytics, and marketing automation platforms.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with A/B testing and experiment design to optimize marketing campaigns.
  • Knowledge of web development principles and experience working with developer-facing products.
  • Certification in marketing or a related field, such as Google Analytics or HubSpot.
