About the Role
The Product Marketing Manager for Cybersecurity at OpenAI is a pivotal role that will define how the company brings innovative AI solutions to cyber defenders. This position is at the heart of OpenAI's Daybreak initiative, aiming to empower defenders with the ability to see risks earlier, act sooner, and build resilient software by design. The role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity, AI, and software development, as well as the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, credible narratives for senior security leaders and enterprise buyers.The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for shaping the market narrative, building field-facing operating systems, and coordinating cross-functional execution across product launches, customer proof, partner moments, events, and account-based campaigns. This involves working closely with various teams, including Product, Research, Security, Policy, Comms, Partnerships, and GTM, to ensure cohesive and effective marketing strategies.
The cybersecurity landscape is evolving rapidly, with AI-powered solutions becoming increasingly critical in the fight against cyber threats. What You Will Do
- Own the positioning and messaging for OpenAI's cybersecurity offerings, including Daybreak, Trusted Access for Cyber, Codex Security, and related product surfaces.
- Develop and maintain field-ready assets for account directors, solution engineers, security leaders, and executive audiences, including first-call decks, one-pagers, use-case libraries, customer stories, and proof-point packages.
- Translate frontier model capabilities into simple, accurate, and defensible GTM language for senior enterprise buyers and security practitioners.
- Partner with various teams to coordinate launches, claims, proof points, enablement, and customer-facing guidance.
- Design and execute campaigns and activation programs across launches, blogs, webinars, roundtables, executive briefings, conferences, customer proof, and account-based motions.
- Turn customer deployments, vulnerability scans, and partner feedback into approved stories, evidence, ROI narratives, and repeatable industry use cases.
- Serve as the connective tissue for the cyber marketing workstream, ensuring priorities, owners, launch readiness, open questions, and executive updates are clear and up-to-date.
- Maintain a high bar for accuracy, governance, customer trust, and responsible marketing in a sensitive and fast-moving category.
What We Are Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in product marketing, industry marketing, cybersecurity marketing, enterprise GTM, or adjacent B2B technology roles.
- Experience marketing technical enterprise products to security, developer, IT, risk, or C-suite audiences.
- Ability to translate complex model, product, and security concepts into clear positioning, field assets, and customer-facing narratives.
- Strong cross-functional program leadership instincts and the ability to drive work across Product, GTM, Comms, Partnerships, Policy, Security, and Research.
- Experience using customer evidence, field signal, product usage, market research, and competitive context to sharpen strategy and prioritize work.
- Ability to build GTM programs, operating rhythms, or new playbooks in ambiguous, high-velocity environments.
- Strong writing, messaging, and editorial judgment, with a high bar for clarity, quality, accuracy, and credibility.
- Deep curiosity about cybersecurity, AI, software development, and enterprise technology.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI and machine learning technologies, particularly in cybersecurity contexts.
- Knowledge of cloud security, network security, or endpoint security solutions.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the cybersecurity industry.
- Certification in cybersecurity, such as CISSP, CEH, or equivalent.
