About the Role
The Product Operations Lead at Alpaca is a critical position that will drive the transformation of the company's operational infrastructure. As the company continues to grow and expand its services, the need for efficient, scalable, and automated workflows has become paramount. This role will be the key to unlocking Alpaca's potential for parabolic growth by identifying, addressing, and resolving operational bottlenecks.The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve working closely with various teams, including engineering, product, and operations, to understand the current state of workflows and tooling. The successful candidate will then design and implement strategies to automate and streamline these processes, leveraging AI, machine learning, and other technologies as appropriate. This will require a deep understanding of Alpaca's business operations, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Given the global nature of Alpaca's business, with hundreds of financial institutions across 40 countries relying on its services, the Product Operations Lead must be capable of navigating complex regulatory environments and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards.
What You Will Do
- Own the product roadmap for Alpaca's internal workflows and tooling, driving the transformation towards automated and scalable solutions.
- Conduct root cause analysis of operational bottlenecks and execute strategies to resolve them, focusing on high-risk areas such as AML/KYC workflows, reconciliations, and security master/reference data management.
- Design and implement automation strategies that leverage internal tooling, AI, and workflow orchestration to support 100x growth.
- Define clear success metrics and SLAs for operational efficiency, ensuring that the company can measure and track progress towards its goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to map processes, write specifications, and deliver solutions that meet the needs of both the business and its customers.
- Work to eliminate critical failure modes by automating core workflows and ensuring that the operational infrastructure is robust and resilient.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and methodologies in workflow automation and AI, applying this knowledge to continuously improve Alpaca's operational efficiency.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and that the quality of deliverables is high.
- Provide THOUGHTFUL and actionable insights to stakeholders on operational performance and areas for improvement.
What We Are Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a product operations or similar role, with a proven track record of successfully driving operational efficiency and scalability.
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with workflow automation tools and technologies, such as AI and machine learning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team environment.
- A deep understanding of the financial services industry, including relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
