About the Role
The Product Owner position at First American is a critical role that involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement API-based banking capabilities. This includes translating business needs into technical requirements and ensuring that solutions meet customer and stakeholder expectations. As part of a team responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and reliable banking solutions, the successful candidate will have a deep understanding of digital banking, payments, and API integrations.The role entails day-to-day collaboration with engineering, product management, and business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver product capabilities. This includes working on the development of APIs, transactional systems, and integration with core banking platforms. The Product Owner will also be responsible for engaging with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and understand business and technical requirements.

What You Will Do
- Partner with product managers to execute the product roadmap for API integrations and transactional banking capabilities
- Translate business and customer needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable API-based banking capabilities
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business goals, client needs, and technical requirements
- Communicate delivery progress, risks, and trade-offs to executives, stakeholders, and technical teams
- Engage with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and build understanding
- Support the development of APIs, transactional systems, and integration with core banking platforms
- Prioritize and refine the product backlog to ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs
- Demonstrate expertise in API-based products, integrations, and transactional systems
- Work closely with compliance, treasury, and client-facing teams to ensure regulatory and security standards are met
What We Are Looking For
- Experience working as a Product Owner or in a similar role, preferably in the financial services or banking sector
- Strong understanding of API-based products, integrations, and transactional systems
- Experience working with highly technical teams and stakeholders
- Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into clear product requirements
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and backlog management
