About the Role

The Product Stewardship Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance for Mitsui Chemicals America, Inc. This position involves coordinating product regulatory compliance, maintaining quality management systems, and providing related information to stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the company's quality management system and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local government regulations.

As a key member of the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance team, the Product Stewardship Specialist will work closely with the QA/RC Manager and Director to achieve the company's goals. This role requires excellent communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a global team.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare the Mid Term Plan (MTP) Budget under the direct manager's direction
  • Gather information and analyze performance and achievement of previous terms, making suggestions for improvement
  • Implement the MTP and Budget, adhering to company policies and strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and organized documents in the company's system of record
  • Prepare reports and documentation as necessary
  • Act as a product stewardship specialist, applying skills and ability to work with sensitive information
  • Support MCI group compliance activities with department management
  • Communicate with various federal, state, and local government regulators
  • Monitor and study new and implementing regulations, such as EPA, FDA, DOT, OSHA, BIS, CBP, and international regulations
  • Contact Raw Material suppliers to conduct QA and product stewardship surveys or inquiries
  • Collect and organize data on raw materials or products, checking with regulatory research databases

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
  • Experience with quality management systems and regulatory compliance
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and organized documents
  • Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as chemistry, biology, or environmental science
  • 3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance or a related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience with international regulations, such as EU REACH, EU RoHS, and EU ELV
  • Knowledge of food additives and food contact materials regulations
  • Certification in quality management or regulatory compliance
  • Experience with project management and budgeting
  • Fluency in multiple languages
