Job Description

About the Role

As a Production Support Lead at SS&C Technologies, you will be responsible for the end-to-end health and availability of the company's RPA ecosystem. This critical role requires a deep understanding of infrastructure management, RPA architecture, and problem-solving skills. You will be part of a team that is passionate about delivering high-quality solutions to clients in the financial services and healthcare industries.

The role entails day-to-day management of the on-premise VM cluster, ensuring that all systems are running smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for allocating resources, monitoring host health, and troubleshooting issues that may arise. Your goal is to move the team toward a 'Zero-Downtime' model by architecting a resilient infrastructure that spans on-prem VMware clusters.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain and optimize the on-premise VM cluster, ensuring that all systems are running smoothly and efficiently
  • Allocate resources (CPU/RAM) and monitor host health to ensure low-latency connectivity for financial processing
  • Oversee the transition of support services and modular RPA components into containerized environments using Kubernetes (K8s) orchestration
  • Manage pod health, scaling policies, and service meshes to ensure consistent performance across the cluster
  • Architect and maintain a stable, scalable Blue Prism environment, optimizing Application Server configurations and managing connectivity between Interactive Clients and Runtime Resources
  • Design multi-VM scaling strategies to handle high-volume financial processes, managing resource locks, session variables, and Work Queue logic to ensure zero contention during peak runs
  • Lead the investigation of critical production terminations, moving beyond 'restarts' to identify underlying architectural flaws in the code or infrastructure and implement permanent fixes
  • Perform line-by-line code reviews and refactor inefficient 'Wait Stages,' optimizing 'Code Stages' (.NET/C#) and correcting flawed exception-handling logic
  • Partner with the database team to troubleshoot SQL deadlocks, optimize T-SQL queries for Blue Prism work queues, and monitor memory management to prevent VM crashes
  • Implement automated 'Watchdog' frameworks and heartbeat monitoring to identify potential SLA breaches before they impact the business
  • Serve as the final gatekeeper for production migrations, verifying that every process has 100% scenario coverage, proper alerting, and notification governance

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in Production Support, Systems Administration, or RPA Architecture
  • 3+ years of hands-on Blue Prism Development (Object/Process Studio) experience
  • Ability to write and debug .NET code stages independently
  • Experience with API integration (RESTful, SOAP)
  • Deep expertise in V6/V7 infrastructure components (Server, Database, Runtime Resources)
  • Practical experience using AI models (Claude, GPT-4, or similar) to assist in technical design, documentation, and debugging
  • Advanced SQL Server proficiency (troubleshooting execution plans/deadlocks) and a solid understanding of VM networking, Load Balancers, and Active Directory
  • Experience in high-pressure financial services environments where 'Zero-Downtime' is the baseline expectation
  • Ability to translate complex technical failures into clear risk assessments for senior leadership

Nice to Have

  • Experience with containerization using Docker or Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and version control systems (Git)
  • Certification in ITIL or equivalent

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Opportunity to work with a leading financial services and healthcare technology company
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options
  • Access to cutting-edge technologies and tools
  • Comprehensive health insurance and retirement plan
  • Paid time off and holidays

How to Stand Out

  • Tip: Make sure to highlight your experience with RPA architecture and infrastructure management in your resume and cover letter.
  • Be prepared to showcase your problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure during the interview process.
  • Familiarize yourself with SS&C Technologies' products and services to demonstrate your knowledge and interest in the company.
  • Use specific examples to demonstrate your experience with Blue Prism Development and .NET code stages.
  • Consider creating a portfolio that showcases your experience with RPA and infrastructure management to stand out from other candidates.
  • Be prepared to discuss your experience with AI models and how you have applied them in previous roles.
  • Research the company culture and values to ensure you are a good fit for the role and organization.
