About the Role
The Professional Services Business Development Manager is a vital role at Arista Networks, responsible for managing the pre-sales process and driving business growth through strategic sales and technical expertise. This position requires a unique blend of sales and technical skills, with the ability to engage with customers, sales teams, and technical leads to identify opportunities and scope complex engineering solutions. As a key member of the Professional Services organization, this role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Product Management, to align on strategy and drive business outcomes.The day-to-day responsibilities of this role involve managing the pre-sales process, from identifying opportunities to presenting service capabilities and negotiating contract terms. This requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and solve complex problems. The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships with customers, sales teams, and technical leads, and will have a deep understanding of the company's products and services.
As a key player in the Professional Services organization, this role involves working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
What You Will Do
- Manage the pre-sales process, from identifying opportunities to presenting service capabilities and negotiating contract terms
- Engage with customers, sales teams, and technical leads to identify opportunities and scope complex engineering solutions
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Product Management, to align on strategy and drive business outcomes
- Develop and present network solution and capabilities presentations, proposals, and contracts
- Create responses to RFPs and engage in daily interactions to position and develop customized solutions for customers
- Work closely with PS Technical Leads and engineers to appropriately scope proposed engagements
- Monitor post-sales deliverables for consistency in content with the solutions sold and feedback on pre-sales process
- Negotiate business terms and contracts, and lead PS interface with Legal and Finance teams
- Review and provide pricing and discounting to management
- Provide pre-sales pipeline reporting and overall PS pre-sales status reporting
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 10+ years of experience providing and selling professional services solutions, preferably in the data center or networking industry
- Strong sales and technical expertise, with the ability to engage with customers and technical leads
- Experience with Salesforce and Excel, with the ability to manage complex data sets and analyze sales trends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, sales teams, and technical leads
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- Strong understanding of the company's products and services, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
Nice to Have
- Experience working with network solution and capabilities presentations, proposals, and contracts
- Knowledge of PS deliverable metrics and capabilities, with the ability to effectively manage multiple requests for Professional Services Pre-Sales support
- Experience working with Sales and PS Delivery teams, with the ability to integrate and propose additional Arista Networks services and products to customers
- Strong understanding of the PS pre-sales process, with the ability to lead PS pre-sales engagements and generate and update templates and artifacts
