About the Role

The Project Controller position at Iron Mountain is a critical role that involves managing the financial aspects of construction projects. As a key member of the Data Center development team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective cost and commercial management processes. This role requires close collaboration with the North America Commercial Director and Project Team Commercial Managers to ensure seamless project execution from start to finish.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction project management, preferably in corporate real estate or military settings. They will be well-versed in budgeting, accounting, and cost control systems, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and think creatively. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field is required, with professional certifications like PMP or P.E. being highly desirable.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the development and implementation of cost and commercial management processes for North America projects
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Director and Project Team Commercial Managers to ensure alignment with project forecasts and budgets
  • Manage project forecasts, billings, and month-end/yearly close-out activities
  • Support the change control process by evaluating budget revisions and reviewing contractor invoices
  • Identify and flag potential risks or changes in a timely and transparent manner
  • Contribute to the development of governance and training materials as a Subject Matter Expert
  • Ensure all projects operate within approved parameters and organizational standards
  • Provide financial oversight and guidance to project teams
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track project performance
  • Analyze financial data to inform project decisions

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 10 years of experience in delivering mission-critical construction projects
  • Demonstrated proficiency in budgeting, accounting, and cost control systems such as Oracle, Tririga, or Google Live Sheets
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to think creatively and operate with substantial independence
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Professional certifications like PMP or P.E. are highly desirable
  • Experience in corporate real estate or military settings is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
