About the Role
The Project Logistics Strategy Manager plays a critical role in driving efficiency, cost optimization, and resilience in the supply chain at GE Vernova. This role entails developing and implementing logistics strategies, managing transportation operations, and leading a team of logistics specialists. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving long-term strategy, innovation, and risk management in the logistics function.As a key driver of business profitability, customer satisfaction, and supply chain resilience, the Project Logistics Strategy Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including commercial, project execution, and logistics operations. The role requires a deep understanding of logistics and transportation operations, as well as the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
What You Will Do
- Provide leadership and oversight to logistics specialists responsible for developing logistics concepts, budgetary freight estimates, and transportation schedules
- Review, challenge, and approve logistics plans, freight estimates, and risk assessments to ensure solutions are commercially competitive and operationally feasible
- Establish logistics estimating methodologies, transportation planning standards, and governance processes supporting tender activities
- Partner with project execution teams to validate final shipment scope, transportation requirements, and logistics execution requirements
- Develop and issue RFQs to carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers
- Conduct bid tab analyses, commercial evaluations, and carrier assessments
- Negotiate transportation rates, service agreements, and commercial terms with carriers and logistics providers
- Support the development of Statements of Work, purchase orders, and transportation contracts
- Ensure transportation assumptions, schedules, and logistics requirements are aligned with project execution objectives
- Coordinate with project logistics managers and logistics operations teams to ensure successful transportation award and execution readiness
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field
- Proven track record of developing and implementing logistics strategies that drive business results
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a team of logistics specialists
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with transportation procurement, carrier management, and logistics operations
- Knowledge of logistics technology and systems, including transportation management systems and logistics software

- Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures
