About the Role

The Property Accountant role at Envolve is a critical position that requires a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills. As a key member of the accounting team, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering financial statement packages, analyzing balance sheet and income statement accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. The role entails working closely with the property management team to provide financial guidance and support.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare and deliver financial statement packages for an assigned portfolio of multifamily properties
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and identify any discrepancies
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
  • Review periodic reports of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and correct errors
  • Review and analyze transactions from accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure accurate coding and recording
  • Work with the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Research and analyze variances or unexplained items on the income statement and changes on the balance sheet
  • Assist with additional financial reports as requested by clients
  • Assist independent CPA firms with audits and reviews of associations
  • Analyze and post end-of-year audit adjusting entries
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the property management team
  • Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations for assigned properties
  • Manage cash for assigned properties

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • 1-4 years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • Real estate accounting experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
