About the Role
As a Property Adjuster at Allstate, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to policyholders by traveling to customers' homes to perform on-site inspections, investigating coverage, preparing estimates, and settling claims promptly. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to providing expert guidance and resolution during challenging situations. Your work will have a direct impact on the lives of Allstate's customers, and you will be responsible for ensuring that they receive the support and service they need.The role of a Property Adjuster is complex and varied, requiring a combination of technical skills, communication skills, and emotional intelligence. You will need to be able to assess property damage, review details, and determine coverage, as well as negotiate with customers, vendors, and other carriers. You will also need to maintain accurate and timely records in the claims system, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do
- Travel to customers' homes to perform on-site inspections and assess property damage
- Investigate coverage and determine the extent of damages
- Prepare estimates and settle claims promptly
- Handle virtual claims using tools such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration
- Deliver a compassionate, clear, and supportive claims experience to customers
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other carriers
- Negotiate fair settlements with customers, vendors, and other carriers
- Maintain accurate and timely records in the claims system
- Use critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately and expedite claims settlements
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in property adjusting, water mitigation, or independent adjusting, along with estimating
- Xactimate proficiency highly desired
- Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately and expedite claims settlements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims countrywide effectively
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality work
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as part of the job requirements
- Residency within the Portland area is mandatory for this role
Nice to Have
- Experience with claims handling software and systems
- Knowledge of insurance laws and regulations
- Certification as a property adjuster or appraiser
