About the Role

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Blackbird Health, you will be part of a compassionate team dedicated to providing high-quality mental health care to children, adolescents, and young adults. Your role will involve delivering comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management, working closely with patients and their families to understand their unique needs and provide ongoing support. What You Will Do

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for children, adolescents, and young adults
  • Develop personalized treatment plans, including medication management, to address the unique needs of each patient
  • Build meaningful therapeutic relationships with patients and their families, spending the necessary time to understand their experiences and provide ongoing support
  • Monitor patient progress against care goals, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure positive outcomes
  • Collaborate with therapists and other healthcare professionals to create integrated treatment plans that address the whole child
  • Participate in weekly team and supervisory clinical meetings to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest best practices in pediatric mental health care, attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions as needed
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements

What We Are Looking For

  • Current active Pennsylvania PMHNP/APRN, State Prescriptive Authority, and DEA license
  • Experience working with children and adolescents as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, with at least one year of practice under licensure
  • Strong clinical expertise, with a warm, patient-centered approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with a focus on staying up-to-date with the latest best practices in pediatric mental health care
  • Experience with electronic health records and other healthcare technology
