About the Role

What You Will Do

  • Deliver up-to-the-minute reports on accidents, delays, and major traffic disruptions.
  • Read traffic updates, commercials, and public service announcements on air.
  • Gather information from multiple intake sources and monitor local, state, and national traffic feeds.
  • Research, write, and produce traffic and weather copy for on-air use.
  • Edit audio using digital editing software.
  • Manage incoming information, verify facts, and ensure all details are accurate and current.
  • Maintain updated content on station websites.
  • Create written, visual, audio, and video content for websites, blogs, and social media platforms.
  • Work a flexible schedule as needed, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless delivery of traffic and weather updates.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Strong knowledge of local geography, major roadways, mass transit systems, and traffic patterns.
  • Clear, pleasant, and well-controlled on-air voice with excellent pronunciation.
  • Skilled at working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in broadcast or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital editing software.
