About the Role

The QA Automation Engineer position at Pavago represents a pivotal role in the company's mission to strengthen its automation infrastructure. Day-to-day, you will be working closely with frontend and backend engineers in a highly collaborative environment. Given the automation-first approach, your expertise in developing and maintaining E2E tests using Playwright and TypeScript will be crucial. This is a hands-on engineering role that requires a deep understanding of test systems, framework stability, and regression coverage.

Pavago is looking for a senior-level professional who can take ownership of test systems and collaborate directly with engineers on new feature releases. Utilizing AI tools to support exploratory testing and uncover edge cases will also be a key part of your responsibilities.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain E2E tests using Playwright and TypeScript to ensure comprehensive coverage of product workflows.
  • Expand automation coverage across critical product workflows to guarantee reliability and performance.
  • Identify and eliminate flaky tests to improve the overall stability and efficiency of the test suite.
  • Ensure seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines to facilitate smooth and efficient deployment processes.
  • Manage test data and maintain reliable test environments to support consistent testing outcomes.
  • Collaborate directly with engineers on new feature releases to ensure that automation is integrated from the outset.
  • Utilize AI tools to support exploratory testing and uncover edge cases that might not be immediately apparent.
  • Work on improving test suite stability and execution performance to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
  • Develop strategies for test data management and maintain test environments to ensure they are reliable and efficient.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, with the ability to develop and maintain complex automation frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, or a strong Cypress background with a readiness to transition to Playwright.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining E2E automation frameworks, with a focus on stability and performance.
  • Solid understanding of DOM interaction, network requests, asynchronous behavior, and diagnosing flaky tests.
  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD environments, with a focus on seamless integration and efficient deployment.
